The beauty of this stunning citrus reamer is far more than skin deep. The polished stainless steel body encloses a very reliable and quietly powerful motor that propels the combined stainless steel reamer/strainer at a healthy 1400 rpm. The spinning strainer maximises the yield with a hefty dose of centrifugal force, as does the design of the spring-loaded pull down lid.

Other designs of automatic citrus reamer have a fixed distance between the top and bottom cones of the reamer, to allow for different thicknesses of peel on the citrus being juiced. With thin-skinned oranges this can lead to incomplete reaming leaving a little juice behind each time, which can prove costly in the long term. The Remida has a spring-loaded top cone, which eliminates this problem while still offering the benefits of the pull down lid. Some customers prefer this type of citrus reamer because the user is not required to hold the orange while it is reamed, this minimises the chance of a painful encounter with the spinning reamer for the fingers of the inexperienced user. The half orange is placed on the convenient locating spike on top of the stationary reamer. The lid containing the top pressing cone is then brought down which switches on the motor and pressure is applied to the handle until the orange is reamed.

A half Orange (or other citrus fruit) is placed on the locator spike on the top of the reamer and the spring loaded pull down lid that houses the top reaming cone is then pulled down onto the fruit. The action of the lid being pulled down automatically starts the motor and the reamer / strainer starts to spin. Pressure is applied to the lid until the fruit has been fully reamed.

The pull down lid ensures that the operator does not have any accidents due to accidentally catching their fingers on the spinning reamer as can happen with some other citrus reamers that do not have a pull down lid.

The spring loaded top cone means that the juicer can adapt to fruits with different thicknesses of skin as the distance between the top and bottom reaming cones is variable. This is especially useful when using thin skinned oranges that are used for juicing in commercial environments as it means you further maximise the juice yield obtained from your fruit.
